Ministry sees Russia’s industrial growth at 2.2–2.5% in 2019
MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s industrial growth may amount to 2.2–2.5% in 2019 unless there are steep oil price fluctuations, and IHS Markit’s conclusions that the market situation is the worst in over 10 years are incorrect, a representative of the Industry and Trade Ministry told PRIME on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, researcher Markit said that Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to 46.3 in September from 49.1 in August, the lowest figure since May 2009.
“The expert conclusions… are incorrect as one should compare not pointwise values, but confidence intervals, which are PMI ranges adjusted for all possible faults,” the person said.
